Product Overview
Hastelloy C-22 is a versatile Ni-Cr-Mo-W alloy that outperforms all other existing Ni-Cr-Mo alloys—such as Hastelloy C-276, C-4, and alloy 625—in overall corrosion resistance. The alloy offers exceptional resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress-corrosion cracking. It withstands oxidizing aqueous media, including wet chlorine, nitric acid, and mixed acids containing chloride ions.
Hastelloy C-22 demonstrates outstanding resistance to a wide range of chemical environments, such as strongly oxidizing species (e.g., ferric chloride, cupric chloride, chlorine), hot contaminated solutions (organic and inorganic), formic acid, acetic acid, acetic anhydride, seawater, and brine solutions. Its ability to resist grain-boundary precipitates in the heat-affected zone of welds allows reliable service in the as-welded condition across numerous chemical-processing applications.
