Product Overview
Alloy 4J29, also known as Kovar, exhibits a coefficient of linear expansion close to that of silicon-borosilicate hard glass between 20 °C and 450 °C. It features a high Curie point and excellent microstructural stability at low temperatures. The alloy forms a dense oxide layer that can be readily wetted by glass and does not react with mercury, making it ideal for mercury-discharge devices. It is the primary sealing structural material for electro-vacuum components.
